Girl, 6, found on road alone after 'wandering out of holiday club'

A six-year-old girl was found walking along a Wirral street after her mum claimed she wandered out of a holiday club at a primary school.

Her mum posted in a private group on Facebook today to warn other parents and to thank a woman who stopped to help after her daughter was found wandering along Manor Road.

She claimed the girl had walked out of the club, based at Liscard Primary School in Wallasey run by a private provider not connected to the school, this morning.

Posting in the Wallasey Gossip group, the mum said: "Would just like to thank the lady who found my six year old daughter on Manor Road this morning."

She added: "If anyone could put me in touch with the lady I'd be eternally grateful."

The mum's post sparked dozens of comments.

One person said: "Omg this is awful,

"I hope she's ok & not too distressed. Well done to the lady who found her xx"

Merseyside Police has confirmed they located a little girl along Manor Road and she was later returned to a nearby holiday club.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Two officers on patrol located a little girl on Manor Road this morning.

"She was returned to holiday club and is safe and well."

The ECHO has made several attempts to contact the club provider for comment.
