A garda hunt is underway to find a driver who struck a little girl riding her Go Kart and fled the scene in a horrific incident in north Dublin.
The shocking hit-and-run took place in Finglas on Tuesday in broad daylight while the child, believed to be five, was out playing in the sunshine.
The driver smashed into the Go Kart on Kildonan Avenue at around 2.45pm but did not stay on the scene despite the frightening circumstances.
The little girl was rushed to the Children's Hospital on Temple Street with injuries to her foot.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live that an investigation has been launched to find the careless driver behind the wheel of the smash.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 2:45pm on Tuesday 2nd June at Kildonan Avenue, Finglas.
"It's reported a car collided with a female child on a Go Kart on the road.
"The child was taken to Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street with minor injuries to her foot."
He added: "The car failed to remain at the scene. No further information is available at this time and enquiries are ongoing."
