A five-year-old girl needed 24 stitches to her scalp when she was mowed down by an electric bike.
Emily Hill was dragged 50 feet down a quiet street in Keighley, West Yorks., last month.
The rider, who is being investigated by police, allegedly collided with Emily when they zoomed off a footpath in a cul-de-sac.
Doctors have told Emily's parents she may need cosmetic surgery, including an operation to graft hair follicles to her scalp.
Mum Leigh, 23, said that few people realise how "dangerous" the vehicles can be as they can also be operated by teens with a moped licence.
The billing administrator added: "We have been through weeks of hell.

Emily and her brother Charlie, three, were being picked up from their aunt's house when the collision happened on June 11.
The little girl did not hear the bike as it raced through bollards onto the road where she was waiting for her mum and her father Sam, 27.
Leigh said: "I heard a massive bang and a second later saw Emily come out from under his bike a couple of car lengths down the road.
"We could see the injuries were really bad. Emily went in and out of consciousness a couple of times.
"At one point she stopped crying and moving, then suddenly let out a big scream... I felt sick."

Emily's head wound was stitched up by doctors at Airedale General Hospital where she spent the night.
She was later transferred to Bradford Royal Infirmary before being discharged the following day.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said inquiries are ongoing.
