A four-year-old girl has been stabbed to death in France amid reports that she was killed by her mum in a row between her parents.
Firefighters said the mother was injured in the incident and could have stabbed the little girl, according to reports.
The emergency services reportedly found the child in her father's arms in a neighbour's home.
The dad was also at the scene of the stabbing in the family home in Lozanne, in Rhone, France, BFM TV reports.
The mum was apparently seriously injured and rushed to Villefranche-sur-Saône hospital, while the father suffered shock but was not harmed.
It is not yet clear whether the mother and daughter were attacked by someone else or if the mum stabbed her daughter and then tried to kill herself.
Firefighters and paramedics found the girl in her father's arms at their neighbour's property, while the mum was discovered injured in the family home, according to France Info.
The couple were new to Lozanne and had only built their home less than a year ago, Le Progres reports.
Early reports citing police sources say the couple were going through a divorce.
Police are at the scene and have launched an investigation.
