Girl, 4, 'over the moon' with stranger's adorable gift

A young girl was "over the moon" after receiving an adorable gift from a stranger.

Earlier this week when her husband was putting the rubbish out, Victoria Maguire said he came across something on their garden wall in Halewood.

Upon further inspection Victoria said it was a "lovely" and "adorable" present which had been left by a stranger.

Someone had left a crochet flower with a note that read: "I'm not lost, just alone, if I made you smile, please take me home. Happy Valentine's Day.

"If you like, you can take a picture of me and post it to the Facebook group Random Acts of Crochet Kindness. Have a beautiful day."

Victoria told the ECHO her four-year-old daughter Alyssa was "over the moon" and "made up" with the random gift.

She said: "We were taking the rubbish out and it was left on the fence. My husband told our girl that someone had left her a Valentine's and she was made up.

"It was a really lovely idea, a very thoughtful thing to do. Last year we saw people taking part in rock painting and hiding them, we did that but we'd never heard of crochet.

"I was looking on the Facebook group after joining and there are some really lovely stories on there about how these finds have really brightened up their day.

"People were having a bad day and were feeling down and then found this, it's spreading a bit of kindness and is a nice way or brightening up someone's day.

"Alyssa was over the moon."

Posting her find to the Random Acts of Crochet Kindness Facebook Page, it received over 100 likes and many comments from people embracing the "lovely" news.

With over 140k members, people can post to the group with their crochet find, encouraging others to do the same.

Some people even commented the idea has encouraged them to learn how to crochet themselves so they can join in and spread random acts of kindness in their community.
