A four-year-old girl had a lucky escape after falling from a balcony and being caught by a passer-by
The little on had been trying to leave her home by climbing along the outside of building when she slipped and was left hanging.
Passers-by failed to notice her distress and some even ignored her cries for help until a cyclist realised she was in danger and stopped to rescue her.
He cried out for a ladder to climb up and get her, but the young girl lost her grip.
Amazingly, the man managed to catch her as she fell, saving her from serious injury.
The incident unfolded in the northern Vietnamese city of Nam Dinh and was filmed on CCTV.

The footage showed how the girl hung off the first-floor balcony as several bikers passed by on the road below.
Some of them failed to notice her, and others spotted her, but failed to stop to provide help.
Eventually, a passing cyclist spotted the potential tragedy and got off his bike and stood beneath the girl in the nick of time before she lost her grip.
As she fell from a height of around 3.5 metres (11.5 ft) and her legs hit the pavement, he caught her before her torso hit the ground, taking some of her weight which meant she didn’t suffer serious injury.

The owner of the shop opposite the house, named Tran Huu Trong, had also spotted the danger and went over to the scene.
He later told local reporters he had asked for the man's phone number so the girl's parents could later thank him.
However, the man only replied "I don't use a phone" before cycling off, leaving the girl under the care of Mr Trong before her mother arrived home around half an hour later.

The Good Samaritan was later identified as local resident Luong Thanh Ha, whom the girl's family visited the following morning to thank him for his actions.
Mr Ha humbly said: "My actions were not significant, nor do I want others to consider me a hero."
He also revealed that he had shouted at others at the time to fetch a ladder but had to catch the girl himself after she lost her grip before one could be brought.

According to reports, the girl had woken up that morning and become upset when she realised her parents were not at home, so she tried to leave the house by scaling the balcony.
She was taken to hospital later that day, where she was treated for minor injuries.
