A three-year-old girl was saved by a hero passerby who spotted her head just above the water.
Chris O'Donovan dramatically rescued little Crystal O'Driscoll from a pond near Fermoy, Ireland, after she got trapped chasing a ball that fell in.
Crystas was playing with her brother when the ball strayed into a deep pond in the area, Cork Beo reports.
Chris said he saw her older brother "frantically" running around for help before he stopped and looked into the water.
He says he just about managed to spot her and went in after her.
Speaking to Patricia Messenger on C103, Chris said Crystal had the wits to sit on a rock once she got stuck, and then patiently waited rather than trying to move.
He said: "I was coming down through the old army camp opposite Amber Garage on the Dublin road.
"I was up there walking my dog and was coming back down by the exit where there's a large pond to the right and left.
"I noticed a young boy on the banks and he was running around frantically and I was wondering 'what's going on here?'.
"When I approached the bank of the pond I could see a small young one in the middle of it and her head was just above the waterline.
"I went straight into the water, and got out to her."
Chris went on to say she had managed to sit on a rock and it barely kept her head above, but had she stood up she would've likely been swept off it and gone under.
"She was frantically crying and screaming so I asked her to put her hands up and she did and I lifted her clean out of the water.
"I turned and brought her back to dry land. She was hysterical. The little boy, her brother, said she followed her ball into the water.
"I knew she lived nearby so I went to the home and met her mother and handed her over."
He said her dad was frantically looking for her.
"Relived" mum Emma joined the line and thanked Chris for his amazing effort.
She said: "They were playing ball together and I think the ball wandered.
"We're more than grateful that Chris was there and acted so quickly because the outcome could've been an awful lot worse.
"We'll never be able to thank him enough for it."
Little Crystal is fine today thanks to Chris's efforts.
