A young mum and daughter are left devastated after their pet puppy was stolen two days before Christmas.
Afsha Waheed, 28, and three-year-old Amaya are hoping for a Christmas miracle and that their beloved pet Russia is returned.
The blue micro bully was snatched from their home in Birmingham while the pair were out in the city centre.
Thieves broke in at around 1.15pm on December 23 and the family returned home to find a smashed window, their TV stolen and Russia nowhere to be seen.
Ms Waheed told Birmingham Live : "I can't believe something like this would happen in broad daylight. I was in town taking my daughter for a haircut at the time.
"My three-year-old Amaya is absolutely devastated, we both are. We just want to find Russia and need help locating her.
"My daughter keeps asking me when Russia is coming home. She saw the broken glass and everything. She knows someone has taken our dog."
Ms Waheed said she is concerned Russia will be sold despite the dog not being useful for breeding due to a lifelong medical issue.
She told of her sadness and said the nine-month-old pup "hasn't got any aggression in her."
"She is of Pit Bull descent so could have done a lot of damage with her teeth, if she was that way inclined," Ms Waheed said.
"I just hope someone out there can help us get Russia home."
Russia has white on her chest and a mark at the back of her neck in the shape of a diamond.
The pooch is said to be on medication and needs regular visits to the vet, which is another concern for the family.
West Midlands Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.
