Girl, 2, in critical condition after she was found with serious injuries at a house in Co Cork

A two-year-old girl is in critical condition in hospital after she was found with serious injuries in a house in Co Cork.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at a house on Boreenmanna Road at around 5am this morning.

The tot was brought to Cork University Hospital.

The house has been sealed off by gardai and a technical examination will take place later on today.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí and Emergency Services were called to an incident at a premises in the Boreenmanna Road area of Ballinlough, Cork City at approximately 05:30am, this morning Friday, July 5 2019.

"Gardaí are continuing to investigate this matter and there is no further information at this time."
