A two-year-old girl died after climbing into a clothes dryer, authorities in the US have revealed.
It is thought the young child got trapped in the machine as her mother slept at a home in Brantley County, Georgia.
The devastated parent discovered her daughter's lifeless body on Sunday morning.
An autopsy has found that the toddler - who has not been identified - died from overheating.
Neighbour David Williams told News4GA: "It’s just an awful tragedy you know. She’s a good girl."
He said the girl's mother was a good mum, and added: "She does the right thing and for something like this to happen in our neighbourhood is just awful.”
He said the mum would never intentionally harm her daughter.
No arrests have been made in connection with the girl's death.
