Girl, 2, and female relative, 25, found dead in London as police launch probe

A two-year-old girl and a woman related to her have been found dead in west London.

Metropolitan Police say officers were called along with paramedics to an address in Old Meadow Lane, Hounslow, shortly after 4pm on Monday.

A 25-year-old woman and the girl, neither of whom have been named, were confirmed dead at the scene.

At this stage, police believe no one else was involved in the incident but an investigation into the tragedy is ongoing

In a statement from the Met, a spokesperson said: "Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics.

"A 25-year-old woman and a two-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene," the statement continued.

"The woman and the girl were related to each other. Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

"An investigation is underway led by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command (Homicide)," the Met said in a statement.

"While the investigation is still in its early stages, officers do not currently believe anyone else was involved in this incident."
