Girl, 17, sexually assaulted in Tollcross Park as police cordon off scene

An investigation has been launched by detectives after a teenager was sexually assaulted in Tollcross Park last night.

A 17-year-old girl was attacked between 9pm and 11pm on Saturday, January 23. Police Scotland remain at the scene this morning, as the enquiry is launched, with a section of the park cordoned off the public.

Officers have confirmed that the investigation remains at an early stage as they "establish the full circumstances" of the incident.

A spokesperson from the force said: "Police are investigating a report of a 17-year-old girl being sexually assaulted within Tollcross Park, Glasgow, between 9pm and 11pm on Saturday, 23 January, 2021. Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident."
