UPDATE - Jessica has been found safe and well
Police are appealing for help finding a teenage girl who went missing on her way to school.
Jessica Thompson, 16, was reported missing at around 7.20am this morning, Tuesday February 4.
Officers say she was last seen on Bealey Close in Gorton as she made her way to school.
An appeal on Greater Manchester Police's Manchester North facebook page read: "Her disappearance is out of character as she has not arrived at school.
"She is possibly frequenting the Clayton, Droylsden and Ashton areas.
"Police are asking for anyone with information to contact us urgently, her family are extremely worried."
Jessica is around 5ft 4 inches tall, of slim build with long brown hair tied up in a ponytail.
She was wearing a green school blazer, a grey skirt and black socks.
Anyone who thinks they may have seen her, or who has information about her whereabouts, is asked to call GMP on 101 quoting log number 942-04022020.
