A teenager who was struck by several cars on a busy road died of numerous injuries, an inquest has heard.
15-year-old Lucy Ure Williams was killed in the early hours of September 28 after being hit by at least four vehicles.
Lucy, who preferred to be known as ‘Locket’ and used the pronouns ‘they’ or them’ to be identified, was found on the busy carriageway by police officers.
A police spokesperson said : “We were called following reports that the body of a young woman had been found in the carriageway.
“It is believed she was struck by at least four vehicles and enquiries remain ongoing to identify these vehicles.”
Surrey Police was called to the A331 in Tongham shortly after midnight, and remained at the scene throughout the day to carry out investigation work.
An inquest into Lucy’s death was formally opened on Tuesday October 19 at Surrey Coroner's Court.
The court heard that Lucy was a student from Farnham, according to SurreyLive.
A post mortem was carried out by Pathologist Dr Robert Chapman and their cause of death was “multiple injuries”.
Coroner Simon Wickens said it is not yet known whether Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will be identified as an interested party, however this will be decided in due course.
A pre-inquest review is expected to take place on February 25, 2022, but this could be subject to change.
