
A London man has been arrested after a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a park popular with families.
The schoolgirl was reported to have been attacked in Poole Park, Dorset, shortly before 10pm on Thursday, September 25.
Police say the girl met the man earlier in the evening before he allegedly raped her in the children's play area, The Sun reports.
A 27-year-old man from Carshalton, south London, has been arrested and remains in custody, according to Dorset Police.
A police cordon was in place around the scene on Friday as forensic investigators examined the area, while officer carried out increased patrols to reassure the public.
A Dorset police spokesman said: "Dorset Police received a report at 9.57pm on Thursday 25 September 2025 that a 15-year-old girl was raped in the area of Poole Park by a man she had met earlier in the evening.
"A detailed investigation into the report is being carried out by detectives and specialist officers are supporting the victim.
"A cordon has been put in place to allow for an examination of the area to be carried out.
"A 27-year-old man from Carshalton in London has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
"He remains in police custody at this time.
"Officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area and we would encourage anyone with concerns to please speak with an officer."
