Girl missing from Des Plaines found

Summer Payton | Cook County sheriff’s office

A 15-year-old girl reported missing from northwest suburban Des Plaines has been located.

Summer Payton was last seen about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday leaving her home in unincorporated Des Plaines, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office canceled the missing person alert Thursday, stating that Payton was found safely. Further details were not provided.
