Girl, 15, arrested after pregnant mum dragged to ground with toddlers in pram

Police have arrested a 15-year-old girl after a sickening attack on a pregnant mum with her two young kids in a pram was caught on CCTV. The 37-year-old woman was allegedly ambushed by two teens and pulled to the ground during the assault in the suburb of Ashford in Perth, Australia on Monday (September 5).

Footage released by Western Australia police in an appeal for information shows the youths riding their scooters along the street, before they suddenly disappear from the footpath just moments later, the Mirror reports. One of the youths then re-emerges and throws their scooter to the ground as they rush towards the victim.

They come up behind her and appear to pull the woman by her hair to the ground before dragging her along the pavement. Her pram is also flipped over in the commotion. She struggles against her attackers before being punched in the head.

She is reported to have suffered minor cuts and bruises, with some concerns being raised for her unborn baby in the immediate aftermath as she fell on her stomach. Police allege the attacker also attempted to steal her handbag.

Officers later arrested a 15-year-old girl at a house nearby. The teen will now appear in Geraldton Magistrates Court on September 13 after being charged with one count of robbery.

Police have also shared footage of the incident in an attempt to gather public information on the movements of those alleged to have been involved.
