Girl, 14, wounded in Calumet Heights shooting

A girl was hurt in a shooting in the 9100 block of South Luella Avenue, July 7, 2019, in Calumet Heights.

A 14-year-old girl was shot in the foot Sunday in Calumet Heights on the South Side.

She was sitting in a parked vehicle about 1:04 a.m. in the 9100 block of South Luella Avenue when a male unleashed gunfire from a gangway, Chicago police said.

A relative took the teen to Trinity Hospital, police said. Her condition was stabilized.

Area South detectives are investigating.
