Girl, 14, reported missing has been found 'safe and well'

A 14-year-old girl who went missing for four days has been found 'safe and well'.

Police first issued an urgent appeal for help to find Mineh Onomake on Tuesday.

Officers said she had last been seen at around 3.45pm on Cardrona Street in Gorton on Sunday, May 23.

Detectives said Mineh 'rarely misses school' and that her family had not heard from her for several days.

Superintendent Helen Critchley, of GMP's City of Manchester division, said the force were 'extremely worried' about her whereabouts.

Mineh's picture was shared widely on social media and residents reported police activity searching the Gorton area overnight.

But GMP thankfully posted on Thursday afternoon: "We're pleased to say that missing teenager Mineh Onomake has been found safe and well. Officers extend their thanks to everyone who helped by sharing our appeal!"

MP for Gorton Afzal Khan also tweeted: "FOUND I'm very pleased to hear Mineh has been located safe and well and is currently with GMP Gorton.

"Thank you to everyone who shared her photo."

Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for further comment.
