Girl, 14, approached by three men in a white car while walking home alone

A young girl was approached by three men in a car while she walked home alone on Saturday night.

The 14-year-old was walking along School Lane in Woolton at around 9.30pm when a white car pulled up alongside her.

It is believed that three men inside the car spoke to her in an incident that police have described as "suspicious activity".

After the approach, the car drove off in the direction of Woolton.

The girl was not injured in the incident and managed to raise the alarm when she returned home a short time later.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Merseyside Police is appealing for information, following an incident of suspicious activity in Woolton, yesterday evening (Saturday, 6 April).

"Officers received a report that at around 9.30pm, a 14 year-old girl was walking down School Lane when a car pulled up alongside her.

"There were three men inside, who spoke to her, before driving off in the direction of Woolton.

"The girl was uninjured and made her way home where she raised the alarm.

"The car is described as a white car, with three men inside."

Detective Inspector Tracey Martin said: “The girl did exactly the right thing in running away and reporting this incident as soon as possible.

“Incidents such as this are rare but we take them extremely seriously – CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing in the local area and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident, recognises the description of the vehicle or has any dashcam or CCTV footage from this area at around 9.30pm, to please contact us."
