Girl, 13, found dead at bottom of cliffs during family holiday in Devon

A 13-year-old girl who was on holiday with her family has died after an incident in Devon.

Police this morning confirmed that the body of a 13-year-old girl was found at the base of the cliffs at Sandy Bay in Exmouth on Friday, April 16, reports Devon Live.

Next-of-kin have been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said officers "attended a location in Exmouth after reports that a person was in difficulty".

"The body of a 13-year-old girl, who was on holiday with her family from out of the force area, was discovered at the base of cliffs at Sandy Bay, Exmouth," said the force spokesperson.

"Her next-of-kin have been informed.

"Her death is not being treated as suspicious. A file is being prepared for the coroner."
