A schoolgirl who was trapped on a roof in Wirral prompted a huge emergency response last night.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Police were called to Willowbank Road in Tranmere at around 10:05pm.
The girl, who Merseyside Police's Force Incident Manager confirmed was 12, had become trapped on the roof of a bay window and needed to be rescued.
Following the quick response from the emergency services, the girl was down by 10:35pm.
One witness said on Facebook: "Anyone know what's happening on Willowbank Road, Tranmere? A police van, about three police cars, and four ambulance incident response units have gone up the road, more towards where South Road is."
One replied: "No but seen loads of flashing lights go down Borough Road regardless of what happened hope no one's been hurt."
Another said: "There are police everywhere around Borough Road."
Merseyside Police said: "We were called at 10.05pm last night, Monday, April 19, following reports of a girl trapped on the roof of a bay window at a property on Willowbank Road in Wirral.
"Emergency services attended. A short time later, at 10.25pm, the girl was down safe and well and engaging with officers."
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called following reports of a person on a roof. We were called shortly after 10pm and sent two fire engines to the scene.
"Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance. Fire crews left the scene at 10.33pm and handed the incident over to the police."
