Girl, 12, taken to Crosshouse Hospital after road crash in Ayr

A 12-year-old girl has been taken to Kilmarnock's Crosshouse Hospital following a road crash in Ayr this afternoon.

Police closed off Chalmers Road in the town for almost two hours after the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 3pm to a report of a road crash involving a pedestrian and a car in Chalmers Road, Ayr.

"A 12-year-old girl has been taken to Crosshouse Hospital.

"The road was closed and reopened around 4.45pm.”
