Girl, 12, rushed to hospital after plummeting 'from a height' in London

A 12-year-old schoolgirl was injured after falling 'from a height' in London last night.

Police officers rushed to Acton Mews in Hackney shortly after 9pm after receiving reports of a child being injured in a fall.

It is believed the girl plummeted from an apartment block, according to reports.

The girl was transported to a major trauma centre and her condition has been described as 'non life-threatening'.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called to Acton Mews, E8, at 21.16hrs on Friday, 13 March, to a report of a girl fallen from height.

"Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS).

"A 12-year-old girl was found injured. She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

"Her condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

According to Mail Online, a London Ambulance Service spokesman added: "We were called at 9:16pm on 12 March to Acton Mews, E8, to reports of a person injured from a fall from height.

"We dispatched a number of resources to the scene including an incident response officer, an ambulance crew and three response cars.

"We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.

"We treated a child at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre."
