Girl, 12, punched and dragged by hair in vile East Kilbride racist attack

A 12-year-old girl was assaulted in a vile racist attack at Calderglen Country Park.

The shocking incident happened near to the waterfall at around 6.30pm on Easter Monday.

The youngster was with her family when she was approached by a group of teenage girls.

They made a racist comment towards the victim before punching her to the face and dragging her to the ground by the hair.

Police say they are following a positive line of enquiry.

The News told last week how the teen was punched and kicked to the head and body by another teenager outside the Bonnie Prince Charlie on April 20.

Enquiries are still ongoing. Anyone with information on these incidents is urged to call police on 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
