Girl, 12, accused of shooting herself and dad in murder pact made to kill family

A 12-year-old has been accused of shooting her dad and then herself in a murder pact made with another girl.

Police were called to the scene of a shooting and found the girl lying in the street with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.

Her dad, 38, was found in the family residence with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Both were rushed to hospital in air ambulances and no further update on their conditions has been released.

According to the local sheriff’s department, the girl is believed to have shot her dad, fled the scene, and later shot herself.

A handgun was located lying underneath the suspect.

The horrifying incident happened in Parker County, Texas, in the US.

Due to the age of the suspects involved, no names have been released.

Investigators discovered that the suspect, from the town of Weatherford, had been planning for weeks to murder her family and pets.

She had also been in contact with another young girl from the nearby town of Lufkin, who had also planned to murder her dad.

The second girl did not go through with it.

In a statement posted online, Parker County's Sherrif's Office said: "The pair had then planned for the Weatherford juvenile to drive to Lufkin, pick up the second juvenile suspect and run away together to Georgia.

"Lufkin Police are also investigating the incident. Parker County Sheriff’s investigators have charged the Lufkin juvenile with criminal conspiracy in the planning of the murder plot."

Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said: “Due to the injuries, the age of the juveniles and the sensitive case matter, information released regarding this case will be limited."
