Girl, 11, taken to hospital after collision with car outside high school

A girl aged 11 was taken to hospital after a car crash outside a high school.

Police and emergency services were called to Turf Hill Road, Rochdale, at 2.25pm on Friday.

It's understood the collision happened near to Kingsway Park High School.

The girl was taken to hospital.

Police thankfully described her injuries as 'minor'.

The driver 'remained at the scene', Greater Manchester Police said.

No further information has been revealed by police.

In a statement, GMP said enquiries were continuing.

A force spokesman said: "Police were called at 2.25pm on Friday 11 September to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Turf Hill Road in Rochdale.

"The pedestrian - an 11-year-old girl - suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"The driver remained at the scene.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."

No further information has been revealed.
