Girl, 11, taken to hospital after being 'struck by car'

An 11-year-old girl was taken to hospital after being injured in a crash in Bolton.

Emergency services were called to the incident at the junction of Halliwell Road and Moss Bank Way at about 3.20pm yesterday (October 6).

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the girl being struck by a car.

She was taken to hospital with injuries police say were 'not deemed to be serious'.

A number of police cars and ambulances were spotted at the scene following the incident.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at around 3.20pm on Wednesday 6 October to a report of a young girl being involved in a collision on the junction of Halliwell Road and Moss Bank Way, Bolton.

"The girl - aged 11 - was taken to hospital with injuries not deemed to be serious.

"A road traffic collision report is being submitted."
