Girl, 11, melts neighbours' hearts singing Beatles and What A Wonderful World

An 11-year-old girl stunned neighbours with another moving solo performance after last night's NHS Clap for Carers.

Talented singer Jess McDonald brought her Rainhill street to a standstill last week after she sang You'll Never Walk Alone.

The performance went down so well that she gave another performance before an even bigger audience who came out to listen to her last night.

This time she chose We Can Be Kind, and also did The Beatles' In My Life and the song What A Wonderful World.

Mum Jackie said: "The street was even busier this time with a lot of key workers present, and the community police came out too.

"The response was incredible last week and it cheers everyone up, even though every time I turn around all I can see is everyone crying.

"She chose to sing We Can Be Kind herself because she learnt it in choir school and she felt the song related to what everybody was going through.

"You could hear a pin drop while she was singing it and because we're quite high up and there's no traffic noise, we were told afterwards that the sound of her voice was even carried as far as Whiston hospital."

Jackie added that her daughter would now be coming out to sing in her street every Thursday evening after the Clap for Carers.
