Girl, 11, finds wanted man hiding in her wardrobe

A wanted man in Oklahoma has been arrested after an 11-year-old girl found him hiding in her wardrobe.

Presley Brown was playing on her phone in her bathroom when she saw the reflection of the man in her mirror placed in front of her walk-in-wardrobe. He had fallen over while attempting to hide behind her clothes.

“I started screaming bloody murder, and he said, ‘don’t be scared little girl,” and I just started running,” she told KFOR.

Presley’s mother, Monica Brown, said she and her husband ran to Presley when they heard her screaming and her husband ended up having an altercation with the intruder.

Police were called to the scene but the man, who has been identified as 26-year-old Race Cox, had already fled. “I saw him running and he jumped over our fence,” Presley said.

“He could have put his hand over her mouth. Who knows, who knows what could have happened,” Ms Brown said.

The family is having construction work completed on their home and builders had told them earlier in the day they had seen a man running through the house. The family had searched for the man but not found him.

Police spent the night looking for Cox, who was wanted on two felony warrants and had already evaded arrest, KXII-TV reported.

He was discovered by officers the next morning walking streets away from the Browns’ home and was arrested.
