Girl, 11, airlifted to the QMC after collision with car

An 11-year-old girl was airlifted to the Queen's Medical Centre after a collision involving a car.

Derbyshire police were called just before 7.40am on Friday, February 14, to a report of the incident.

"The child has been taken to Queen's Medical Centre by air ambulance for treatment," Derbyshire police tweeted.

Officers say the A444 Burton Road, in Castle Gresley, remains closed between the Cadley Hill roundabout and Toons furniture store.

"Please avoid the area and take alternative routes where possible," Derbyshire Constabulary tweeted.

No further information has been released at this time.
