Girl, 10, who can't speak left with horrific bite marks after being attacked by child on bus

A ten-year-old special needs pupil who can't speak has been left severely bruised and "inconsolable" after another student bit her multiple times while they rode a school bus.

Lillian Waldron's mum says she is non-verbal and so developmentally delayed she has the mannerisms of a two-year-old.

The little girl was reportedly bitten multiple times on her arm on Monday as she travelled on the school bus.

Her mum told ABC2 affiliate WBAY that Lilly was crying and holding her arm as she got off the bus.

Lynn Waldron-Moehle wrote about the incident in a Facebook post, saying at first she didn't realise what had happened to her daughter.

Woman, 26, battling chronic 14-YEAR migraine 'wouldn't wish it on worst enemy'

"My daughter came home from school on a Lamers bus today whining and carrying on holding her arm signing ouchie.

"She is non-verbal and developmentally delayed.

"I noticed when I took her coat off that she had a single bite mark on her forearm.

"Although it looked kinda like she bit herself so I didn’t think anything of it. She was very agitated and not calming down so I thought a nice warm bath would help her.

"I went to get her ready for the bath. I took her sweatshirt off and finally saw why she was so distraught.

"Over 9 bite marks all bruised covering her upper arm and shoulder. She was crying and holding her arm still."

According to reports, Lynn said she took pictures, called the police and took her daughter to the hospital.

She was horrified when Langlade Elementary School's principal told her he had reviewed the bus surveillance footage and had seen her being bitten by another girl on the video from inside the vehicle.

"He said it was gruesome and horrifying to look at, and that the girl was brutally biting my daughter's arm," Lynn said.

The school district's superintendent told media several administrators had watched the footage and immediately got in contact with Lilly's family to offer support and address their concerns.

But Lynn said an adult should have been watching over the children riding the bus that day, who she said also had special needs.

"No other child needs to go through what Lilly went through," she said.

Children born with half a heart saved by surgery then 'let down by society'

The family claim the pupil who allegedly bit Lilly is no longer attending her school.

They also claimed she had other bad experiences riding the school bus.

They said they planned to organise for her to ride in a van alone with two adults to and from school, and wanted to speak to a lawyer about the incident.

Quality family time 'on wane due to hectic work schedules and lack of money'

The school district released a statement to US media.

It said: “The District is conducting an investigation into the situation and will be working with the bus company to ensure appropriate processes and procedures are in place to prevent this from occurring in the future.”
