Emergency services were called to Putney Leisure Centre in south west London this afternoon.

Police are treating the incident as an “unexplained” death, but the girl is understood to have gone into cardiac arrest.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We were called at 2.38pm today (19 April) to reports of an incident at Putney Leisure Centre.

“We sent a number of resources including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, two medics in fast response cars and an incident response officer.

“We treated a patient at the scene and took them as a priority to hospital.”

Her next of kin are being informed, the Metropolitan Police said.

A forensic scene is in place and enquiries continue.
