A 10-year-old girl was targeted in an alleged attempted abduction in Glasgow .
A man approached the child and hugged her on Westray Street near Ashgill Road in the Milton area of the city at 9pm on Tuesday night.
Police are working to establish a motive behind the assault.
Detectives are also working to establish whether a black car was involved.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are at an early stage."
