Girl, 10, rushed to hospital after being hit by car in Paisley

A 10-year-old girl was rushed to hospital in Paisley yesterday after being hit by a car.

The incident happened shortly before 4pm on Barrhead Road.

Police and emergency services raced to the scene after receiving a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The girl was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with minor injuries.

The road reopened to traffic around 5:50pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Shortly before 4pm on Monday, 29 June, 2020, we received a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian, a 10-year-old girl, on Barrhead Road in Paisley.

"The girl was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with minor injuries. The road was re-opened around 5.50pm."
