Girl, 10, hit by motorbike in Aberdare while crossing the road

A young girl had a lucky escape when she was hit by a motorbike which failed to stop at the scene.

Police say a 10-year-old girl was crossing the road in Trecynon, Aberdare, when the incident happened on Thursday (June 11).

Luckily the girl did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the collision on Harriet Street.

Police are now urging the rider of the vehicle to come forward.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Police are urging a motorcyclist to come forward following an incident early this afternoon [Thursday] in Trecynon.

"A 10 year-old girl was in collision with a yellow motorbike as she crossed Harriet Street with her mum but wasn't seriously injured.

Harriet Street, Trecynon:

"The motorcyclist rode off without stopping.

"Anybody who may have witnessed the incident, or who believes they know who was riding the motorcycle at the time, should call 101 quoting reference *204855."
