Former Arsenal midfielder Giovanni van Bronckhorst has revealed his desire to follow Mikel Arteta's footsteps by returning to North London in a management role.
The Dutchman won the Premier League, the League Cup and two FA Cups during his time with the Gunners before moving to Barcelona.
He has now embarked on a managerial career, working as an assistant at Feyenoord before taking the reins himself and then moving on to Chinese side Guangzhou R&F last year.
While he finds himself in the Far East, he has made no secret of his desire to return to Europe in the future and taking charge of a side he used to play for.
"At the moment I'm enjoying my work in China. But as a player I had ambition and as a coach I have ambition. The Premier League for me is the number one league in the world to be working at and, for me, it is definitely an ambition to work in," he told Sky Sports.
"I always said if I could coach the teams I played for it would be a big dream."
Arsenal fans will be hoping that Arteta has a long and successful career at the Emirates Stadium but Van Bronckhorst's comments should also provide a boost to the impact that the club has had on their careers.
Freddie Ljungberg, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry are among the former Arsenal stars also pushing to make a wave in management, with Ljungberg having been in the caretaker role before Arteta took the reigns.
On top of that, Per Mertesacker is leading the academy and Edu is technical director, with the recent changes seeing Arsenal's DNA spread across the club.
