Giovanni van Bronckhorst opens up on his role at Manchester City

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has expressed his happiness at working with Manchester City but conceded the move was only an "interim solution" as he wants to return to management in the future.

The Dutchman left Feyenoord at the end of the season, with the club finishing in third place, securing a place in the Europa League.

Van Bronckhorst spent time at the City Football Academy after his departure leading to suggestions he could be involved in Pep Guardiola's coaching setup.

However, MEN Sport understand he is simply gathering experience of how the club, and the City Football Group, runs its business.

The 44-year-old was questioned about his time at the club thus far and what his plans for the future were.

Van Bronckhorst revealed that a return to management is in the pipeline, hinting that his time at Man City may not last very long.

"I am doing well," he told Voetbal International.

"I have been to Manchester a number of times and travel a lot.

"I see new things, experience new things and continue to develop. For me, that is very beautiful at the moment.

"Ultimately, I want to be a head coach again.

"That is the best thing for me. This is a great interim solution."
