Giovanni van Bronckhorst said he will meet the Rangers squad tomorrow, but avoided commenting directly on Connor Goldson's comments.
The new Ibrox boss met the press today and was asked about the defender's statement following yesterday's Premier Sports Cup defeat to Hibs, in which Goldson had said the players may have 'lost a bit of hunger'.
Van Bronckhorst said he would rather have that conversation with the players, as he prepares to take over from Steven Gerrard, who left for Aston Villa earlier this month.
"I saw a lot of footage of the team, how they've played this season so it's a great squad, they won the league last year and a second year to be champions is more difficult," van Bronckhorst said.
"We're still in a good place. I was not happy with the result yesterday so I can see some things I want to change and that we have to be better at.
"My first meeting is with the players is tomorrow so it's better to tell them first, look them in the eyes and from tomorrow on we do everything to be successful with this club.
"That's my goal, my ambition and that's the message I want to put across to the players."
