Former Gunner Giovanni van Bronckhorst admits it would be a "dream" to one day manage Arsenal.
The Dutchman spent two years in north London where he won the Premier League title and two FA Cups under Arsene Wenger.
He left for Barcelona in 2003 but has since become a manager following his retirement in 2010.
Van Bronckhorst took the reins at Feyenoord, the club where he saw out his playing days, and is now in charge of Chinese side Guangzhou R&F.
He claims to be enjoying his time in Asia but has made no secret of his desire to return to Europe.
"At the moment I'm enjoying my work in China. But as a player I had ambition and as a coach I have ambition.
"The Premier League for me is the number one league in the world to be working at and, for me, it is definitely an ambition to work in," he told Sky Sports.
"I always said if I could coach the teams I played for it would be a big dream."
Former Arsenal man Mikel Arteta currently occupies the dugout at the Emirates having taken charge in December.
It is the Spaniard's first job as a No 1 having served as Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City.
And Van Bronckhorst claims the Catalan has proved to be the greatest influence on him.
"Last year I spent five months with the City group and a lot of time in Manchester with Pep," he added.
"He was very open. He talked about the training sessions and I could watch and see everything and talk with his staff.
"Those are moments you can see him really in action and he is a very special coach. Those months with him in Manchester I could see a lot of things I didn't see before and it helped to develop me as a coach."
