Giovanna Fletcher forced out of West End show after suffering nasty injury

Giovanna Fletcher is gutted after a nasty on-stage injury has forced her to pull out of her West End show.

The I'm A Celebrity winner has been starring in 2:22 A Ghost Story at London's Gielgud Theatre alongside Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz, Ultimate Force actor Elliot Cowan and The Inbetweeners' James Buckley.

But the mum-of-three, who is married to McFly's Tom Fletcher, has sadly been forced off stage after being injured during the show.

Sharing her devastation on Instagram, the 36-year-old shared snaps of herself with her right foot in a medical boot and of the nasty bruising covering her foot and leg.

She told her followers: "Not quite how I imagined ending 2021 and starting the 2022, but there we go…

"I somehow managed to roll over on my ankle mid-show on Thursday. The big crunch I heard and subsequent pain have brought me to this new accessory.

"Needless to say I’m missing from @222aghoststory at the moment. To say I’m devastated not to be there is an understatement and at this point I think my heart hurts far more than my ankle."

She added: "I’m resting up and doing all I can to be back on stage with @stephaniebeatriz, @buxtagram and @lostwaxprocess ASAP, but in the meantime I’m delighted that audiences get to see the wonderful @handyrhi shine as Jenny.

"I feel so lucky to be part of such a supportive company (cast, crew, FOH and production) who’ve done all they can to help, and can’t wait to return soon! Xx"

"Ouch!!!! Hope you’re ok!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery xxxx," pal Rosie Ramsey commented.

While Strictly Come Dancing pro Amy Dowden, who was paired with her husband last series, posted: "Sending you so much love"

And McFly star Harry Judd joked: "That sucks! On the positive you were so good you nearly broke a leg…."

Last month, Giovanna had posted about how much fun she was having in the show.

Sharing a snap of herself on stage, she wrote: "Getting ready for the 5 show weekend ahead… Having the best time on @222aghoststory with @stephaniebeatriz @buxtagram and @lostwaxprocess.

"Huge thanks to everyone who has already been in to see the show or booked to come in soon (tickets would make a great xmas gift). We’re having a hoot! It wouldn’t be possible without the amazing team around us backstage and FOH - we salute you all! #222aghoststory"
