Rangers fans are creaking like an old IKEA wardrobe after learning their big Swedish centre-back Filip Helander has been ruled out until December.
And on the other side of Glasgow's divide there's also anxiety about fitness issues.
Steven Gerrard still has Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Jack Simpson to fall back on at Ibrox - although the latter has been left out of their Europa League squad.
And Craig Murray, East Kilbride, reckons that is a mistake the Ibrox boss might live to regret.
He said: “I know the UEFA rules on who can and cannot be included in your squad are complex but surely Rangers should have ensured they had four centre-backs on their list.

“If anything happens to Goldson or Balogun, we’ll have no choice but to throw Calvin Bassey in. He’s only had one run out as a centre-half against Falkirk last season - that’s hardly ideal preparation for the Europa League.”
Niko Katic would have been another option had he not been sent out on loan to Hajduk Split in order to build up his fitness following last year’s serious knee injury.
Bluenose Davie Phillips, Clydebank , said: “I really wish we had kept big Katic here in Glasgow this season. For me, he’s a much stronger option at the back than Balogun or Simpson, neither of whom have yet to convince me they are up to the job.”
Celtic fan David Bryce, Troon, is also worried about the many absentees at Parkhead.
He said: “Celtic’s injury list is shocking and simply not good enough. Guys like James Forrest and Mikey Johnston are never available for selection.
“And for Ange Postecoglou to say Giorgos Giakoumakis is not up to speed, in the middle of September, that is shocking too. Do players not play when they have a knock these days?”
We learned earlier this week that Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs, Dundee United and Dundee have launched a probe into the SPFL’s finances as they look to double the revenue Scottish football can generate.

But Andrew Lamb, Fraserburgh, said: “The search for new money by five of the SPFL clubs simply proves that there are far too many teams in the SPFL chasing a small pot of cash. The Premiership can support no more than 10 clubs, max.”
Hotline regular Gordon Ashley, Ayr, was back for his daily bicker as he said: “Caller Chris Lowe must be nominated for a comedy award after his Alfredo Morelos gag in yesterday’s paper.
“His list of so called big names he has netted against that ‘goes on and on’ but actually ends after the three clubs he mentions. He’s worth £6million tops.”
But Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, just wishes we could all get along.
“As a Rangers fan, unlike the famous Celtic fan on this site, I want both teams to do well in Europe. It’s only a game of football and both teams represent Scotland. Let’s cheer them both on, it’s only common sense in my view.”
Alan Lough, Dunbar, wasn’t impressed by what he saw from PSG’s star-studded line-up after Messi, Neymar and Mbappe failed to overcome a Club Brugge defence marshalled by Scotland’s Jack Hendry on Wednesday night.
He said: “PSG were awful against a brilliant Club Brugge team who played them off the park and were unfortunate not to get the umpteen goals their performance deserved. They gave the PSG front three no chance to get creative and for all the class PSG have on paper, it isn't showing on the pitch.”
Bankie Stephen McLaren said: “I would just like to say good luck to Clydebank FC, who will be playing their first Scottish Cup tie in the town for 25 this years on Saturday. I hope they get the crowd this momentous occasion deserves.”
And finally, Frank Scanlan, Shawlands, said: “Well done for printing an Ayr Gold Cup version of the Punter! It’s definitely Scotland's best racing guide! I now need to find some winners!”
