Celtic have snapped up Greek striker Giorgios Giakoumakis on a five-year contract.
Record Sport exclusively revealed earlier this month that the 26-year-old - top-scorer in the Eredivisie last season - was on the Parkhead club's radar.
And now the move has been confirmed for the player who wasn't able to prevent VVV Venlo from suffering relegation from the Dutch top flight despite his scoring heroics.
Those goalscoring exploits made him a man in demand this summer, with Werder Bremen and clubs in the Middle East interested.
Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou got involved personally though, calling the Greek to explain what his role in the team would be.
That sold Giakoumakis on a move to the Premiership, with a deal agreed for around £2.5million.
And the striker is now officially a Celtic player, after completing a deadline day switch.
A club statement confirmed: "Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce that it has made its 10th signing of the summer transfer window, with the announcement that striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has joined the Club, subject to international clearance.
"Giorgos has signed from Dutch side VVV-Venlo on a five-year deal. The forward, who made his international debut for Greece last year, finished the 2020/21 Eredivisie campaign as top scorer with 26 goals.
"In six appearances for his country, the 26-year-old has netted once, and has club-level experience playing in the Dutch league, Poland’s Ekstraklasa and the Greek Super League – most recently for AEK Athens."
He becomes the 10th signing of the summer rebuild, with Filipe Jota is also set to arrive on deadline day in a loan deal from Benfica.
