Rangers have appointed Gio van Bronckhorst as their new manager following the departure of Steven Gerrard for Aston Villa.
The Premiership champions launched their search for Gerrard 's successor after the Liverpool icon's bolt from the blue return to the English Premier League.
The Ibrox chiefs quickly identified Van Bronckhorst as their preferred candidate and talks continued after Gerrard's exit was confirmed.
Rangers named B-team coach David McCallum and Jermain Defoe at the head of a four-man coaching team to take the reins for the time being.
But it always seemed likely Van Bronckhorst's appointment was imminent after the news broke he was already putting together his backroom team less than a week after Gerrard's exit.
They have now officially named Van Bronckhorst as their new boss ahead of their Premier Sports Cup semi against Hibs on Sunday and their key Europa League showdown with Sparta Prague.
The former star enjoyed a successful spell in Govan as a player between 1998 and 2001, winning five trophies, including two league titles.
He will now hope to replicate those glory days in the dugout, having already proved his pedigree in the Netherlands.
Van Bronckhorst led Feyenoord to two KNVB Cup successes and sealing their first Eredivisie title in 18 years during his time at the club.
He most recently managed Guangzhou R&F in China but left after one season as his side finished 11th in the Chinese Super League.
