Gio van Bronckhorst adamant Rangers and the Europa League Final is his focus in curt response to Celtic question

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst insists Sunday's win over Dundee United was never about delaying a Celtic title party.

Instead he's focusing on his own team and preparing as best as he can to deliver history in 10 days' time in a Europa League Final.

James Tavernier and Amad Diallo got the goals against United and Van Bronckhorst told Sky Sports after the match he had no interest in when Ange Postecoglou's men lift the trophy.

The Hoops would have sealed the championship had Rangers not won but now can do so at Tannadice on Wednesday.

"I'm not thinking about it," Van Bronckhorst said.

"We have two important things to go and we know the league was very difficult to achieve, especially when we drew with Celtic.

"We're not looking at them, we want our best version in the Europa League Final.

In a carnival atmosphere at Ibrox young stars such as Leon King, Charlie McCann and Alex Lowry got chances to impress, the latter having signed a new contract until 2025.

Asked if those players will get more game time with the two massive games to come, Van Bronckhorst said: "Yeah, I think we have to.

"Big games coming up, you want to keep going so you find the right balance between keeping the momentum going but making sure at times we can rest some players.

"It's a big achievement, you felt the emotion and the atmosphere after the game and we wanted to stay on the pitch for an hour.

"The atmosphere was good because we celebrated the achievement we had together.

"In the aftermath people are talking about the final and we are working towards the final, but we don't think we have achieved anything yet – we want the trophies as well."
