Gino D'Acampo slams Rate My Plate man's spaghetti carbonara as 'suitable for dogs'

TV chef Gino D'Acampo launched into an astonishing rant against a man's attempt at a spaghetti carbonara, describing it as 'suitable for dogs'.

Italian food expert Gino has clashed with This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in the past about what makes a good carbonara, one of his home land's most famous pasta dishes, so they decided to get his opinion on a very 'unique' one which has gone viral this week after being posted in Facebook group Rate My Plate.

The Facebook group is famous for its notoriously harsh feedback from members and the carbonara, shared by a man named Steve, and made from tinned spaghetti, a cheese slice and tinned hotdogs, quickly showed up in plenty of Facebook feeds after people couldn't believe their eyes.

Holly and Phillip admitted they sent it to Gino knowing fine well it would wind him up and his savage reaction did not disappoint.

They played the voice note they'd received from Gino about the offending carbonara live on air and he blasted: "This is what is wrong with thus country. I've been showing people how to make carbonara for 20 years now.

"But people still think it is a carbonara if it has a bit of pasta in. Who eats pasta from a tin?! It's like dog food!"

He added: "If you want my opinion it is food for doggies...please don't send me a picture like that again!"
