Gino D'Acampo leaves fans gutted after announcing he's quitting ITV show

Fans of TV chef Gino D'Acampo have been devastated after the Italian cook announced he will no longer be starring in a popular ITV show. Taking to social media, the 46-year-old confirmed has has quit filming Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip.

The hit programme, which has been running since 2018, follows Gino, Gordon Ramsay and First Dates' maitre d' Fred Sirieix - aka, 'the Three Amigos' - as they journey across the world to visit places they know best and hold most dear to their hearts. Viewers join them as they take their campervan and explore local culture, cuisine and some interesting traditions along the way.

However, fans of the show have been left gutted as Gino broke the news that he won't be starring in the programme anymore, due to filming being 'impossible' after three series. Posting a video explaining the announcement to his followers, Gino said: "I have a little bit of news for you.

"I want you to hear it from me straight. Last week I have decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred road trips. The reason is simple, nothing to do with Gordon and Fred the friendship is very strong.

"It is just because we can't get the dates together and when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me, personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family, it is always very complicated."

He added: "Also because, contracts, it starts to get very complicated, then it becomes very stressful and I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than getting in arguments with the contracts. I have decided not to do Gordon, Gino and Fred anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many many years."

The celebrity chef ended his video by thanking fans for their support. ITV has since confirmed "a brand new series of Gordon, Gino & Fred's Road Trip in Spain will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX later this year."

Many fans rushed to comment their heartbreak at the news. On Twitter, Fay96105018 replied: "Awww such a shame, you 3 together are the funniest and the highlight of my week. Totally get it, sometimes things just don't work out for many reasons. All the best with whatever you have coming up."

Debs0774 added: "Thank you for taking the time to tell everyone. It's so much better than here say and rumours. I loved the programs like many many others. I wish you every success in the future and look forward to the next chapter." Povnearyroth wrote: "Awwwwwwww. I will miss the show so much but thank you for the joy that your guys brought."

Sallysally72 typed: "Ahh very sad you guys are amazing and so funny together . But totally understand you all lead such busy lives must be hard . All the best gino xxx." Morguechick echoed: "Shame, great programme, but you have to do what’s right for you. Hopefully there will be re-runs."
