Gino D'Acampo lands new job after shutting down restaurants over £5.4m debt

Gino D'Acampo has landed a new job after reportedly having to shut down his chain of Italian restaurants.

The TV chef, 46, had to shut down his restaurant chain as the business is in debt for £5.4million.

Liquidators have launched an in-depth investigation, which is reportedly costing a staggering £150,000.

It comes just a few weeks after Gino stepped down from his role on ITV's Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip due to the contracts.

Despite several setbacks, Gino has managed to land a new job at the Yorkshire Dales Food And Drink Festival later this summer.

He will be cooking for a live audience and sharing his culinary knowledge with festivalgoers in late July at Funkirk Farm, Skipton.

Other people joining the line-up include the Hairy Bikers and fellow TV chef James Martin.

Gok Wan, Pat Sharp and a few tribute acts will be part of the festival's entertainment.

It comes after it was revealed liquidators are set to investigate the conduct of major stakeholders and question why company books have gone missing, according to The Sun.

Investigations are currently ongoing to discover why a creditor for Gino D’Acampo Ltd has suddenly appeared.

In April 2022, the company, which is owned by the This Morning TV chef and his wife Jessica declared itself solvent and two directors signed a declaration stating that it had no creditors.

The liquidators have now reportedly launched an investigation, which will probe why the debt has suddenly come to light, as well as the conduct of major stakeholders.

The "whereabouts of the company books and records" will also be investigated.

Earlier this year, fans were shocked to hear Gino quit his show with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix.

It was initially reported that there was a "fallout" between himself and his co-stars and that they were "blindsided" by his sudden exit.

During his appearance on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden recently, he revealed the real reason he left.

"What happened is we tried to put the dates down to the show, and then all of a sudden they get cancelled. [...] So I was like, 'guys, we can't do that' because everybody has a block of dates," Gino said.

"And we go work, we need to support our family. But just they said, 'Look, this is what it is. We need to be able to move things around'. And I was like, 'Look, this is getting now silly, stressful'."

The star continued: "The contracts also are getting bigger and more stressful. So I thought, 'you know what, let me get out of this before the friendship is going to suffer'.

"I'd rather have the friendship and not have the show."
