Gini Wijnaldum names 'unbelievable' Liverpool player who drives training standards

James Milner has been praised by Liverpool teammate Gini Wijnaldum for the standard’s he sets, especially in training.

The Reds midfield duo are both held in high regard by manager Jurgen Klopp, with both frequently more than playing their part to help the cause.

Since arriving on a free transfer in 2015, Milner has gone on to make 210 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 26 goals with the vast majority coming from the penalty spot.

With his original deal was due to expire this summer, the 34-year-old penned a new contract with the Reds in December, which keeps him at Anfield until 2022.

Wijnaldum and Milner have shared the pitch together on a number of occasions, and the Dutchman could not speak more highly of the Reds vice-skipper.

He also went on to say that Milner’s work ethic means that you have to remain ‘100 per cent’ concentrated, even in training.

“The engine that guy has, it's unbelievable,” Wijnaldum told the Football Show on Sky Sports.

“I see it in games and in training. He's non-stop [in training]. When you play against him it's really tough.

“He never stops giving everything, so you have to be 100 per cent concentrated otherwise you will lose to him. He's a really tough competitor.”
