Journalist Jonathan Shrager.
What?
According to the report, Liverpool are one of the clubs that have enquired 'recently' about signing Zakaria this month.
It has been claimed that Liverpool, along with Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Bayern Munich, have explored the possibility of signing the Swiss international.
Monchengladbach confirmed last week that the midfielder will not renew his contract, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
With his contract expires in the summer, a January move could be on the cards if the Bundesliga club are to recoup any money for him.
However, some reports have suggested Dortmund lead the race and Liverpool will face stern competition if they want to sign him.

According to the report, Wijnaldum is being lined up by Arsenal in a “shock” loan deal this month.
Wijnaldum left Liverpool last summer to sign as a free agent for Paris Saint-Germain, but reports have emerged in recent days that he may not be happy in the French capital.
Liverpool and Newcastle have both been tentatively linked with a reunion with their former player in recent weeks.
